A restricted location for a great wine
Lugana, is a white wine that comes out of northern Italy. All wine variations come out of specific regions in Italy, with many named after the region it comes out of. The Lugana region is positioned right between Lombardy and Veneto and sits on the southern point of Lake Garda.
The origin of the Lugana name
"The name Lugana comes from the Latin name "lacus lacanus" which means "lake in the woods." "
Lugana producers and varieties
The Lugana wine is known more as a fruity, white wine, although there are several other wines produced in the Lugana region, including a colored chiaretto wine, which is produced from either a dark rose, or a pale red, utilizing the combination of Groppello, Sangiovese, Garbera and Marzemino grapes.
